Did you know in the UK we will watch an estimated 86 Million hours of TV this Christmas?

We have just come across this snippet of news courtesy of AV Forums and Samsung so thought we’d fill you in on it!

Samsung have been looking into the way we watch TV and what our viewing habits are and have predicted that in the UK we will watch a mammoth 86 Million hours of TV over the festive Christmas period! That is certainly some hours of TV viewing for us all. Most interesting though is that one in ten of us will turn our TV sets on at 10am (maybe after the best time of the day is done with which is unwrapping all of your gifts!) and a third of us will keep the TV turned on all day. (Although it has been found that in the South west of England that the peak time for turning on the TV is 3pm!)

So what kind of things are we watching on our TV sets you might ask? Well according to Samsung we consider festive programs to include the annual Queens Christmas Speech which come ahead of Christmas specials!

Not unsurprisingly though 15 million hours of our viewing time has been predicted to be watched on Catch Up TV services as we often don’t get chance to watch our favourite content over the Christmas period (or end up arguing as to who gets to watch what!)

However if you don’t currently have a TV set that will allow you to access Catch Up TV then this could be a problem! So in time for all the great TV Shows and Movies that are shown at Christmas then why not treat yourself to a new TV perhaps as we have a great range in stock that you can find by clicking here. Or perhaps you cant stretch your budget that far to be able to get a new TV then don’t panic as why not invest in a Freesat Box such as those available from Humax, have a look at these by clicking here.

Or maybe another way to ensure you don’t miss your favourite content this Christmas time would be to pick up a hard disc recorder and watch your favourite programmes and movies whenever you choose. We have a range available such as the Panasonic DMR-HWT130 perhaps?

No matter what you are watching this festive season though you are sure to find something to suit your tastes and we wish you all a Happy Christmas and New Year!

Want to watch some amazing movies from 99p? And not just older movies either!

At Electrical Experience we like to try and keep you informed of the latest news and stories as they happen so thought we’d fill you in on this latest development being offered from Sky.

Sky is now allowing anyone whether they are a customer of Sky or not the ability to be able to stream content from their Sky store service through a PC, Laptop, Now TV, Roku and YouView set-top boxes. Sky are currently working on being able to offer this service to mobile devices so you will be able to stream movies on the go via your smartphone or tablet once this has been launched so no matter where you are you will be able to watch your favourite movies!

The brilliant part about this though is that you don’t have to pay a monthly subscription fee and you can choose when you want to watch them giving you complete flexibility and you don’t have to pay a fee for a month where you might not watch any films at all such as services offered by LoveFilm or BlinkBox for example.

You get to choose from a varied catalogue of great films starting at 99p such as classic movies like Austin Powers and the Godfather and many others too. There are films to cater for everyone’s tastes so whether you enjoy your action movies, horror films, romance or comedy there is something for you! Even newer releases can be viewed too such as Despicable Me 2 so it’s not just a catalogue of old films and at the moment there are around 1200 films to choose from so not as many as other companies such as LoveFilm offer but we are sure Sky will be adding to this in the future. Additionally Sky has said that later in the New Year you will be able to see other big movies releases from this year too so certainly something to be looking forward to.

Once you have picked a film to rent, it will stay in your account until it is played. It will then be available for 48 hours once playback is started. This gives you great flexibility as you can choose when you want to start watching it.

So why not take advantage of this brilliant offer from Sky, whether this be on your PC, Laptop or on your TV you are sure to find something amazing to watch and keep you and maybe your family entertained without costing the earth!

As some brilliant movies get released on Blu-Ray, time for a new Blu-Ray player perhaps?

Over the next few weeks in the run up to Christmas there are some amazing films that are going to be released on Blu-Ray and it’s a shame to have to miss out if you don’t yet have a Blu-Ray disc player, or the one you do have could do with an upgrade! So why not treat yourself (and your family if you have one) to the latest technology on the market and enjoy movies in true style. Or if you are thinking of getting a Blu-ray player why not invest in a surround sound package that comes with a Blu-ray player and be able to immerse yourself in not just realistic and jaw-dropping images but also surround yourself with cinema sound too.

So let’s look at what you have got to look forward to on Blu-ray shortly or what has just come out:

1. Despicable Me 2: Gru and the oh-so-cute Minions are back in Despicable Me 2. And this time round, the Minions find themselves embroiled in a dramatic kidnap plot. This one isn’t just for kids! And will appeal to everyone and as its animation you can expect the graphics on Blu-ray to be stunning.

2. Red 2: Bruce Willis reprises his role as ex-CIA agent Frank Moses in this star-studded sequel to the action comedy based on D.C. Comics' cult graphic novel. Frank is brought out of retirement once again when he is asked to track down a nuclear device which has fallen into the wrong hands. In order to find out the device's location he must first speak to Edward Bailey (Anthony Hopkins), the scientist responsible for its creation, but to make matters worse his old partner Victoria (Helen Mirren) has been contracted to kill him with the help of a much renowned deadly assassin (Byung-hun Lee).

3. The Wolverine (3D and 2D): This stand-alone epic-action adventure set in modern day Japan reveals the untold story of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character from the X-Men universe, and evolves the character saga to new levels of depth, intensity and visceral action. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle than will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than ever before.

4. The Worlds End: For Gary King (Simon Pegg) and Andy Knightley (Nick Frost) it was supposed to be the ultimate reunion - one night, five friends, twelve bars. A boozy quest to 'The World's End' pub on which only the strongest will survive. Having the time of their lives, they're ready to take on the world... but tonight they might just have to save it. From Edgar Wright, Director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, comes a wildly entertaining thrill ride of outrageous humour and explosive action that will raise a glass to the apocalypse.

5. Man Of Steel: Directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan (who also directed The Dark Knight), Man of Steel is an action-packed blockbuster about the most recognised comic book hero of all time: Superman. (released 2nd December)

6. Jurassic Park 3D: Lets face it we all love this which is probably one of the classic movies of all time! Released on 16th December in 3D Blu-Ray you can experience one of the most influential films  of all time as the release celebrates its 20 year anniversary.
